The International Career Day offers international inter-governmental organizations (IOs) an opportunity to present their employment conditions and to run an information stand. It is the only event of its kind in Switzerland devoted solely to IOs. About twenty IOs attended the previous events each year. This event is a collaboration between the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the company etucom. It will take place during the "Salon des étudiants" (www.salondesetudiants.ch).
It is addressed to all graduates and to students completing their studies, whatever their nationality. This day is also intended for those who have already acquired professional experience and are considering a career in an IO.
The organization of this event is an integral part of the Federal Council's strategy to improve the representation of Swiss nationals in IOs and to promote international careers. Switzerland is seriously under-represented in the UN and in other IOs. The aim of this forum is to encourage Swiss citizens to apply for IO careers by informing them of the various career options available to them.
